ERISdb is a database of plant splice sites and splicing signals.

In current version it collects data for eight plant species: Arabidopsis thaliana, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, Glycine max, Oryza sativa, Physcomitrella patens, Selaginella moellendorffii, Zea mays.

In the process of data population we used developed by us algorithms to search for splice-site associated data like splicing signals (including polypyrimidine tracts or cis-regulatory elements), U12 introns or to determine microRNA gene structures.
We also applied some published external tools, e.g. for branch site search.
Finally, we incorporated published external data associated with the splice sites.
As a result ERISdb is probably the most comprehensive database of plant splice sites and splicing signals and provides access to:
  1. polypyrimidine tracts, UA-rich tracts, branch sites
  2. cis-regulatory exonic and intronic sequences
  3. experimental support for splice sites (Expressed Sequence Tags, RNA-Seq data)
  4. orthologous splice sites
  5. plant U12 introns
  6. microRNA gene structures
  7. WebLogos of splice sites and branch sites in analyzed species
